Yoga and Meditation

If we want a healthy body we have to make our mind healthy with physical health, mental health has to improve. The nature, personality, psychological & psychic framework has to change. Aim of all is to get freedom from all bandages & from vagaries of mind. Health is an equipoise state of body, mind, sense-organs & soul. This is the harmonious vibrations of the elements of human body. This is the state of ease contrary to this is disease.

Disease, in modern medical perspective is considered as dysfunctioning of organs & systems which may be due to congenital defects, external atmospheric agents like allergens, toxins, pollutants or infectious germs. Modern science does recognize that the other major cause for disease could be the factor of internal imbalance like mental restlessness, emotional upsurges or intellectual conflicts that lead to stress reactions. The concept of disease according to yoga is found in the treatise called Yogavasistha. The modern disease such as asthma, diabetes, hypertension & anxiety are called “Adhija Vyadhi” (Stress born disease). Yoga & Meditation Practices help in bringing about balance so that complete health can be restored. Swami Vivekananda’s statement that the goal of healing is to unfold the potential divinity by one or more or all of the four aspects of Yoga, namely Karma, Bhakti, Janana or RajYoga. Thus yoga therapy is not organ specific but it is a science that works holistically to strengthen the inner being.

We achived this therapy with the help of Dr. Nagendra H. R., Dr. R. Nagarathna, Mr. Kailas Kulkarni from Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (SVYASA) from Bangalore.
